Level 3 Award in First Responder on Scene (FROS)

The Level 3 Award in First Responder on Scene (FROS) is a qualification that provides the skills and knowledge to provide care to people before an ambulance arrives. It’s ideal for people who want to work as first responders or ambulance co-responders.  

The course covers a range of topics, including:

• Scene safety
• Patient assessment
• Basic life support
• Use of an external defibrillator (AED)
• Management of medical conditions
• Care of wounds, bleeding, and burns
• Management of trauma
• Recognition and management of anaphylaxis
• Administration of oxygen therapy  

The qualification is valid for three years. It’s part of the FutureQuals First Responder On Scene (FROS) qualification suite and is Category C on the FPHC PHEM Skills Framework. This is an Ofqual regulated qualification.
